Windsor FC (formerly known as Windsor & Eton) was officially formed in 2011, when they joined the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division. Their first season was a success, finishing second in the league and reaching the Semi-Finals of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy.
The club underwent a big transition in 2012 following the Olympics. The playing budget was removed from the club, and the majority of the squad and staff moved on, making way for a younger, more passionate squad. The first season following the change the club finished 8th in the league, and by the second season the team won the Clubs first trophy in the form of the Berks & Senior Trophy. By 2014-15 the club won the Trophy again, beating Flackwell Heath 3-2 after Extra Time. The club moved to the Hellenic League Premier Division in the 2017-18 season, but following 2020-21 they were transferred back to the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North.
Standings:
Wembley head into the weekend off the back of a midweek cup victory against AFC Hayes. With some players being rested for the first half of that match, a slightly different line-up is to be expected for the League fixture. Windsor are placed 8th in the table, two places and three points ahead of Wembley, but have played a game more. A win here could take Wembley past the guests on goal difference. The most recent fixture for Windsor ended in a 2-2 draw at home to Holyport, a team that the Lions have beat on two occasions this season.
Current Form:
Wembley – LWWLW
Windsor – LDLWD
