Egham Town were originally founded as Runnymede Rovers in 1877, before the rebranding to Egham started in 1905. They were founding members of the Surrey Senior League in 1922, where they won their first honours by winning the league in their first season. By the 1927-28 season, the club finished second in the League and were promoted to the Spartan League Division One West. They were then promoted to the Premier Division in 1929-30, but were relegated two seasons after finishing bottom of the league.

In 2012 the club earned promotion from the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division to the Southern League Division One Central. They earned a promotion play-off place in the 2015-16 season but lost to St Ives Town on penalties in the Semi-Final. Their most recent full season resulted in a relegation to their current league, the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division.

Standings:

The visitors this weekend currently sit 7th in the League, 4 points ahead of the Lions, with two less games played. The club have been in good form in both league and cup competitions over the last few months, with their last loss coming back in August to Burnham, 12 matches ago. The visitors are also proven goal scorers, netting three or more goals in six of their last twelve games. Their most recent match ended in a 1-1 draw with Ascot United, a team that Wembley were drawing 1-1 to before the game was abandoned late on. The Lions are fresh off a close 2-2 draw with Windsor, where they had to come from behind in the second half to claim a point. Wembley will be looking to rediscover some of that form they found in August and close the gab between the top teams in the table.
