Kings Langley FC were founded in 1886, and were original founding members of the West Herts League in the 1891-92 season. Their first league honour came 20 years later after winning the West Herts Division 3 championship. The club was folded following multiple relegations, only to be reformed 4 months later, prior to a Division 2 championship and Webster Cup win that same year. In 2016 they became the fourth club in England to ever gain 3 successive promotions, after being promoted from Division 1, The Premier Division, and then the Southern League Division One Central all in three seasons. Kings Langley have made a slow start to the current season, winning none out of their first 4 games with the senior team.

With this fixture being the first of the new season, neither team have any official results so far, meaning this match will be an open and exciting encounter between two young sides. Getting off to a good start will be important to the Young Lions, with a long season ahead of them. The opening matchweek of the league will see the table take shape between the 8 competing teams.
