The FA Youth Cup 2022-23 season kicks-off in August and the draws for the extra preliminary and preliminary rounds of the competition have been made.

Following on from the release of the Youth Cup’s entries, exemptions, round dates and prize fund last week, The FA has now revealed how the early stages of the new campaign look with 60 ties in the extra preliminary round during the week commencing Monday 15 August and then 224 ties in the preliminary round during the week commencing Monday 29 August.

For the 2022-23 season, only players who have reached the age of 15 years by midnight on 31 August 2022 of the current season and not reached the age of 18 years as at midnight on 31 August of the current season are eligible. For example, to play in the 2022-23 season, a player must have been born on or after 1 September 2004 and before 1 September 2007.
