Wembley traveled to Bedfont Sports FC in search of a second win of the 2016/2017 pre-season. With a comfortable win last weekend against a durable Bedfont & Feltham side, this weekend`s game was to prove to be a good barometer of where this Lions side is ahead of the new season which is just 3 weeks away.
Although fitness was one of the key aspects manager Ian Bates was hoping to see improvements in, but winning the match was always the priority, and the lads fully delivered.
After a cagey opening few minutes the game burst into life with each side grabbing a goal which saw both teams go into the half time interval all square.
Ian Bates` men showed their class in the second half as The Lions kicked into second gear and took control of the game. 1 soon became 2 and the goals did not stop there with Wembley`s fitness levels far superior enabling The Lions to travel back to Vale Farm with an impressive 4-2 victory.
Next up is another away game, this time around against Highmoor-Ibis FC on Saturday July 23rd.
